WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED AND WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?
We have two locations, one at 2717 E. 38th Street and one at 945 Broadway Street NE #103, both in Minneapolis.
We are open Monday - Friday 11 am - 7 pm, Saturday 10 am - 6 pm and Sunday 10 am - 5 pm.
WHAT IS TARE MARKET?
Tare Market is Minnesota’s first zero waste store! We offer a wide range of package-free sustainable living products, as well as bulk shelf-stable foods and cleaning products. Our goal is to meet you where you are in your journey and help you find ways to reduce your waste and fight climate change. We also provide workshops and education to help you along on your zero waste journey.
HOW DO I SHOP IN BULK WITH MY OWN CONTAINER?
It’s simple! Just bring in a clean, dry, empty container and follow the steps below:
1. Weigh your empty jar on our scale to obtain the tare weight, and write it on your container.
2. Fill your container with whatever bulk goodies you would like!
3. Bring the filled container to the checkout where we will weigh it again, subtracting the tare weight from the final weight, to obtain the weight of the contents inside. This way you only pay for the contents of the container!
Our staff are available to help you, so please let us know if this is your first time shopping when you arrive.

WHAT IF I FORGET MY REUSABLE CONTAINERS OR BAGS?
Don’t worry about it! While we encourage you to bring your own containers and bags, we will have options for you in the event you forget. In addition to the wide range of reusable containers and bags we have available for sale, we have paper bags for use and jars available on a returnable deposit system.
HOW CAN I BECOME A VENDOR AT TARE MARKET?
Do you have a zero waste or low waste product that you think would fit well with the mission of Tare Market? We are always considering new products. Please head over to the "Become a Vendor" page and click on the link to access our Google Form to submit your product information.
WILL YOU FACILIATE A CLASS ON ZERO WASTE FOR MY ORGANIZATION?
We facilitate a class called Transition Your Home to Zero Waste. This class is an opportunity to learn about the zero-waste movement and simple steps towards eliminating waste in one's home. This class focuses on the beginner to intermediate “zero waster” and is 45 minutes of PowerPoint and 15 minutes of Q & A. We are happy to adjust the presentation to be shorter, if needed. MY ONLINE ORDER IS STOLEN OR NEVER ARRIVED, WHAT DO I DO?
Tare Market is not responsible for any packages that are lost by any mail carrier or stolen. We recommend that you reach out to USPS to file a claim for any lost or stolen packages.
WHY DO SOME OF YOUR PRODUCTS COME IN PACKAGING IF YOU CLAIM TO BE PACKAGE-FREE?
Unfortunately, we cannot avoid all types of packaging due to FDA regulations, supplier policies, etc. However, we make sure to avoid single-use plastic and excessive packaging, and ensure any packaging products may come in is fully reusable, compostable, or recyclable. We also work with our suppliers to ensure they send products to us with the least amount of packaging possible, and we reuse every bit of packing material we can for shipping orders from our online store.

CAN I RETURN OR EXCHANGE AN ITEM I PURCHASED?
We want you to be 100% happy with your purchase and offer a comprehensive return and exchange policy.
Items that are unopened and unused may be returned or exchanged within 30 days with a valid receipt or order number. The amount will be refunded via the original form of payment. If a receipt or order number is not present, items may be returned for store credit issued in the form of a gift card of equal value. Customers are responsible for shipping any items not returned in-store. All sales on makeup and bulk items are final unless items are damaged.
